Icon Painting
A day course using a modern method led by Di Beckerson
Friday 31st January, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Icon painting is both popular and interdenominational, drawing on the riches of the Orthodox tradition. On this day retreat we will set aside time to create a small icon in the traditional style, but using a much shorter method. Gouache paint on paper will be used, instead of egg tempera and wood; gold paint and not gold leaf!
Each stage is prepared in prayer and we paint, mostly, in silence.
Paint, paper and subject matter will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own materials, in particular fine brushes. A buffet lunch along with refreshments throughout the day will be provided.
Cost: £50 including materials, tuition, lunch and refreshments.

A £20 deposit is payable; balance due by 24th January.
Di Beckerson is an accomplished local artist, with many years teaching experience at King William's College. She has regularly exhibited her work at Creative Arts events.
